Anam Cara House Geelong is now in its second year of operation with the Carers’ Accommodation having commenced in April 2008 and the Day Hospice having its first anniversary on 5 August 2009. The Overnight Respite commenced in May 2009.
Anam Cara House Geelong is committed to providing overnight respite on three nights a week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) during 2009/10 and hopes to progressively increase this service to the point where it is operating seven days a week. This is an expensive service and the ability to expand it will be dependant on the generosity of the community. The Board is currently exporing a variety of fundraising options that hopefully will cement Anam Cara’s place in Geelong for many years to come.
