A carer is a family member or friend closely linked to a person requiring support. Respite allows carers to take some time out for their own needs, or to be housed close to a loved one who is receiving medical treatment in a nearby hospital or medical centre.
Carer accommodation
The Carer Accommodation at Anam Cara House Geelong provides comfortably furnished bedrooms (some with ensuites) and a shared sitting room. Basic tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the shared sitting room, and the house has a fully equipped kitchen. Laundry facilities are available, and a team of dedicated volunteers assist with housekeeping. There are a number of eateries close to Anam Cara, and some offer discounts for guests.
Anam Cara House Geelong is located in the centre of Geelong’s CBD and is a short walk to Geelong’s hosptials and medical treatment facilities.
Parking is available on site at no charge for those using the accommodation.
The cost of accommodation is $40 per night for the first person, with additional persons in the same room charged at an additional $10. There are no costs for children under 15 years of age.
